Tomato paste is a processed product from fresh tomatoes that has been subjected to a concentration process to obtain a final product with a high content of total natural soluble solids. This industrial process may include crushing the tomatoes, removing the skin, seeds and other thick or hard substances, and subsequently concentrating the juice obtained. The result is a concentrated product that is used as a base for making sauces, stews, pizzas and other dishes.
