Synthetic antioxidant and stabilizer. It is obtained derived from Erythorbic Acid. It is also used in meat products to avoid the formation of nitrosamines.

Uses of the additive:

It is used in soft drinks, carbonated drinks, preserves, frozen vegetables, frozen fish, sausages, ham, turkey breast and cured sausages.
